Why Is It Wrong If It Feels Good?
Another year is upon us and yet, another gay pride parade has happened in my home town. Thank you to God I was at home during the whole ordeal. Personally, I was raised that this is a wrong lifestyle to live and in which to participate. However, I am not blameless in other departments. Let’s touch for a moment shall we on this particular topic.
I personally have worked and have some acquaintances that share the homosexual lifestyle. One gentleman I have known for a while is married to his partner. And on the surface, based on society’s eyes, they are great young men, contributing to the financial well being of society. To my knowledge, they have a house, at least 1 car, and they shop just like any other couple. Same as the gay woman I know, she lives with her girlfriend and all the same applies to her and her partner. However, what does the bible say about this lifestyle? Let’s look at a few verses shall we?
• Lev. 18:22, “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.”1
• Lev. 20:13, “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their blood guiltiness is upon them”
• 1 Cor. 6:9-10, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
• Rom. 1:26-28, “For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.”
Some have always brought to the attention that it was only in the old testament that it was condemned. But here, we clearly see that it is a sin that is carried in the new testament. In Leviticus 18, it refers it to being an abomination to God. If you look up the Hebrew, it’s also a disgusting thing, worth being abhorred, detested. NOWHERE does it say it is acceptable. Leviticus 20 says it was something worth being put to death for. A man sleeping with another man, was punished by death. That is not a light crime to laugh at. It “may” have felt good at the moment. But even now, how many families are ruined when a husband or wife comes to the surface and admits to their sexual orientation. Only bible ignorant people accept this lifestyle. Either ignorant that they don’t read it, or ignorant that they read what they want to read in the text.
And, over and above what else has been said, I can think of no other reason to enjoy this lifestyle other than one’s own sexual passions and desires. There is no honor in this. It destroys families, it brings about much persecution, it tears down confidence and after careful research, I have found (and this may not be 100% accurate) that nearly 40% of all suicides between 14 -25 yrs of age, are due to being gay and not handling the pressure.
I cannot think of any positive elements of participating in these activities. ESPECIALLY if the partaker is remotely “religious”. They have to suppress the truth from their mind in order to enjoy themselves.
The big problem is that we as a society have grown to tolerate all other lifestyles. Where living together before marriage, homosexual, cheating taxes, cheating on spouses, stealing from work, lying to spare someone’s feelings. None of them fit in God’s perfect world. Romans and Corinthians is absolutely clear about this, and this is why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. Men wanted to be self pleasing.
Dear friend, while reading this, and if you are a participator in these lifestyles, realize this, you may enjoy it. And you might not suffer any immediate consequences, but remember this, you will meet God (Amos 4:12) and you will have your mouth shut.
See Christ on the cross, repent of your sin and pray that He saves your soul from eternal damnation.
