Isaiah 6 and verse 5 as below

5Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

I have read an article in the local newspaper as of late that the title is called “Who is God for you”. Needless to say, this really, really grabbed my attention. Being the Christian that I am, becoming infatuated with some doctrines I had never seen before. Such as Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement and a number of others. Articles will be written on these for more clarification.
As I was reading this newspaper article, never once did he mention the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He mentioned a few leaders of religion. But the religions were all mixed, from Catholic to Muslim. And on the surface, he puts them all the same playing field.
Then after that, he goes further to comparing God to some of George Lucas’s creative inventions (Star Wars).
What really struck me was at the end, he mentioned the church he attended. I won’t post it here, nor will I post his name. The one question I will ask, is how can a preacher from a church, someone that should be studied in the things of God, compare such a God to man’s ideology? He was also listed as passionate about Progressive Christianity and relating faith to the modern culture. As soon as I read that last sentence, everything made complete sense. Most people today, that claim to be Christian are no more Christian than the people who frequent bars and cheat on their taxes.
Today’s Christianity comes down to a prayer and a formula. But God forbid your life should reflect it. No need for repentance, no need to see God for who He really is. Take 5 minutes to ask Christ in your heart and if you were sincere, you are saved. Today’s evangelicals have taken Revelations 3:20 and have completely perverted the text. That verse talks about a wayward church. Nowhere is a sinner mentioned in this passage. I could go in much more detail but I don’t feel this is the article to do so. However, we never hear anyone preach on Acts 16:14. Where a woman named Lydia was listening and God opened her heart so she could understand the things of God. That’s why I started this article off with Isaiah. Man has completely forgotten and ignored the true God of the bible. God doesn’t ask us for favors and He is most definitely not begging you to open your heart to let Him in. That would make you more powerful than Him. The day that you can create something from nothing and control all your environment with just a word, then you might have something going for you. Till then, you are to repent from your sins. Your sins have offended this great God. And for God to be just, He must punish you for offending Him. But, there are some good news after all this. His Son, 2000 yrs ago, dead on that cursed cross, beaten to the point of not recognizing He was even a man. Disfigured, whipped, beard tore out, spat on and the list goes on. And you turn around and say “I’ll do it my way”
Dear friend, there IS no other way. You must throw any pride out of the window and plead to God for your salvation. If you have no repentance, you will NOT find salvation and an eternity in hell is patiently waiting for you. My prayer is that your pride would be stripped away, that you would fall on your knees and seek God, pray that He will extend His grace and mercy to you and save you. Look onto Jesus Christ for washing your sins and redeeming you.
