What Is Sin and Is It Really That Bad?

I remember, when I was growing up, that my parents taught me morality to the best of their ability, in other words, they tried to teach me the difference between right and wrong. Having been brought up Catholic, there was some biblical perspective on it as well. Then getting into my teen years and further, the sins I committed were no longer limited to disobeying my parents and lying about what I did, or the occasional temper tantrum. They escalated in much darker things. There is no need to describe what they are, there is a reason Genesis 19 doesn’t go in more details than it does, we need only know that man’s imagination isn’t limited when it comes to the creativity of sinning, both in thought, and in deed.

I know and speak to many people that still struggle with their sin on a daily basis. Myself NOT being the exception. It’s a daily battle. Seeing what I struggle with, and battling to not fall. Seeing others that are addicted to drugs, and trying so hard to leave it behind, only to fall harder when they can’t fight it anymore.
So what is sin? When did we inherit this “defect” as socialist now call it. It all started in Genesis chapter 3. When the serpent deceived Eve. And then Adam followed suit. Now one thing I want to make clear, though in a certain perspective, they are to blame, YOU would have done the exact same thing. Might have been a little while later, or sooner, but YOU are not an exception. And for the readers that don’t believe the bible account for this, do you realize that believing in evolution, there is no reason to be moral at all. Think about it consistently, if evolution was true, where did morality come from. There is NO logic for morality if you believe in Atheism. We just exist, and whatever you want to do, do it.That’s because morality comes from transcendence. God put the moral law in our minds. So that if we judge some things to be good, by what standard are we comparing the good things to bad. If there is good, there must by default be bad things. And those, were not put in place by man.

But with the bible’s account, sin, is so devastating, it grips you, it torments you. And something we think are ok in this world (living together before marriage, lying, stealing, cursing….and the list goes on and on). And before you know it, you are completely entangled in bondage to it. You can’t escape it, every instance of every day, you either fantasize about it, or you are completely torn and try to get rid of it, but you can’t. It tracks you, and drags you down every chance it has.

There are tribes living in South America, that as a culture, murder each other for a sport (Aucas). If you do some research on this tribe, you will be quick to point out, “I am not that bad, they were just vicious”. And though that might be right, here’s the question for you, where did they learn to be like this.
Think about your child, did you have to teach him/her to lie? Here’s an absurd example, but you’ll see the logic.
“Ok son, next time you feel bored, and don’t want to listen to me, just do what you want, and then when you’re done, I’ll come in the room, and when I ask you what happened, you just say, it wasn’t me”
How often have you had that conversation with your child. NEVER, it’s always us playing judge to try to establish what really happened, especially if there are more than one child involved.
Children don’t do “big” sins not because they can’t, but because they are restricted by their strength, and parents guidelines and imagination. But, you put the strength of a 25 yr old man, in an 18 month old baby, it would be absolutely destructive.

Psalm 51:5 – In sin did my moth conceive me
This verse describes, that from birth, we were in sin. With no way out. Now, what is our merits for this act?

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This means, that since we sin, our earned wages for this act, is death. If Adam and Eve would have never sinned,  death would not exist. And sin is so devastating to not only us as a society, it’s also a evil act against God. Even if you don’t believe in Him, doesn’t mean He’s not there.

Did you know there are people that believe that man never landed on the moon?Search it in google, (Just because it’s on the internet, doesn’t make it truth)So if people are trying so hard to show that man didn’t land on the moon, what do you think atheists have been doing for centuries with God. Trying to disprove Him
Let me ask you this, if God doesn’t exist, why don’t you go kill someone? Steal your neighbors car, why don’t you wave your fist at your parents and say “how dare you try to treat me as your son/daughter”, after all, you are just a byproduct of evolution. So for that matter, your parents shouldn’t even flinch an ounce of emotion
But you can’t, because there is something in you holding you back, the municipal police? Imagine they aren’t there, imagine, on this planet, there is no consequence to the sin you could commit, could you still do it?
I submit to you, no, there are some things you see as completely immoral, like rape. Under no circumstance, is this an acceptable act, yet, if evolution is true, why not?

Dear friend, reading this blog, I pray that you will see the logic in the debates between evolution and creationism, and that evolution, is a weak attempt at debasing the God of the universe.
I pray you see your sin as God does, devastating, evil and ungodly. And see the cross, 2000 yrs ago, that gory scene. We don’t have the imagination to really visualize that day. The blood, the hitting, the screaming, the cursing, the insults, the spitting. And that was all before the cross, done by humans. Then there’s when God punished His own Son. Dear friend, don’t you see it was done for you. It was YOUR fault He had to die a bloody gruesome death that day. There was NO other way God could forgive you for your sins. Someone innocent has to die, so you can live, and none of us are innocent before God.
