Tolerance, really?
Now, with this topic, we are no doubt in for an interesting article!
I was in a store shopping for shoes as of late and as I was looking at the different styles, and looks, feels and so on, I noticed a couple of staff behind the cash counter. The counter was approx 3.5 feet high and I didn’t see below their stomach area. Then finally, a young man came around the counter to greet me and what he was wearing is what really got my attention. He had his jeans rolled up to his knees and was wearing what appeared to be a pair of women’s boots up to his knees.
The name of the company is not important, nor is his name. We live in a society that is more and more tolerant of these activities and lifestyles and less and less tolerant of what is actually right. Less and less couples are getting married before living together. Boys and girls are being intimate sexually younger and younger. I heard recently of a girl 19 yrs old, having already 4 children. She would have to have started at 15 at the latest if my math is right. I remember myself, in Junior High, that some were already sexually active.
I was talking to someone while waiting for my coffee about this incident at the shoe store, and that person told me since they had many friends that are gay, that I was closed minded. That now, as society, we must accept them, and move on. That the world has evolved from the discrimination and then for a moment, I thought to myself, that person is right. I have to accept them and I almost felt bad but then I thought to myself, why is it, that the Christian view is the one that is always threatened? Anytime, you have a discussion on something, and you bring up that you are a Christian, and you have a biblical view on the topic, notice how the tone will change. The Christian will then feel more out of place than the other person. Why is this? Read the bible, in the end, WE WIN!!!!! We are so afraid to offend someone, even if it is for truth and lose them as a friendship that we suppress the truth in order to not lose the friendship.
Let’s look at scripture.
Jude : 6And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day— 7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire,d serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
Genesis 19- 4But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house. 5 And they called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.” 6 Lot went out to the men at the entrance, shut the door after him, 7and said, “I beg you, my brothers, do not act so wickedly.
Leviticus 18 – 22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. 23 And you shall not lie with any animal and so make yourself unclean with it, neither shall any woman give herself to an animal to lie with it: it is perversion.
Corinthians 6 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God
I find it interesting how many people bring up the point that homosexuality was brought in the law of Leviticus, and we are no longer under the law of Moses, but under grace now, pointing out at the new testament however notice that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed even before the law was given. Giving a clear indication that even before the law was given, this as an abomination. And even under grace, Corinthians and Jude, and Romans 1 is completely clear, it is an abomination, and God WILL have the last word.
Now some people will claim that they don’t believe in God so it doesn’t apply to them. I beg to differ, they are the first ones to quote Matthew 7:1. Judge not lest ye be judged. They also bring up the sermon on the mount, and you so often see quotes even on Facebook now “Treat others as you want to be treated”. They take all those quotes from the bible, but when it comes to scripture that condemns their activities, they no longer apply.
Dear friend, I pray daily that you will see that this activity, while it may be accepted in society, it has NEVER been accepted by God. And will never be. For the Christians reading this blog, we must not feel intimidated to give our views. I am not saying we must go in their face and blatantly tell them they are on their way to hell. We must do it with compassion, and love, however, with firmness that will not be moved.
The truth is not what the masses follow, but what is truth. You can have 1000 people doing math and everyone of them says 2 + 2 = 5, they are all wrong, while 1 person stands up and says 2 + 2 = 4. He might be alone, but he’s right. No matter how we look at it, homosexuality is sin. And what is sin, it’s a blatantly an attempt to dethrone God from His position. It is an offence against an infinitely holy God. And for that reason, if you die in your sins, you will be cast into hell for all eternity, it’s the only possible judgment that will satisfy God. And that is the reason Christ died on that cross 2000 yrs ago. Because since we humans are so tainted in sin, someone perfect, had to die. So Jesus Christ, being God, came in the flesh as it was the only possible way for himself not to stain himself in sin while on earth, took the death you deserved, and the punishment that you deserved, and made you free. On one condition, you see your sin as God sees it, you want to get rid of it, you repent of it and you believe in Christ.
Pray that God saves you, as you cannot escape the powerful grip of sin. Believe me when I tell you, you still struggle with it after salvation. The only difference between a Christian and a sinner without Christ is not that we are better, it’s that we are sinners with a different destination. Oh reader, please cry out to God that He might have mercy on you and save you, while you are still breathing on this planet.
