Everyone Wants To Go To Heaven…
This statement is made more often than most people realize. But it’s a loaded one. Here’s the truth, and spoken by one of my favorite preachers. Everyone wants to go to heaven. Well, simply because everyone wants to go to a place of no suffering, where they will never cry again. They get everything they want, and they rule their space. They all want to go to heaven, they just don’t want God to be there when they get there. The key indicator that they won’t want God in heaven, is that they don’t want God now. Isaiah 14 describes the heart of Lucifer, but it very, very closely resembles the heart of a man as well
12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Man wants to go to heaven. I won’t disagree with that. I will say that men, on this planet, want nothing to do with God now. Talk to them about God, or better yet, try to bring up the topic. Men and women want to be the king of their destiny, the leader of their life, build on their self esteem. No one wants to submit to anyone. No one wants to take the blame for something they might have done wrong. No matter what it is. They are ready to sue if they believe they have been wronged. In their mind, the world owes them. And even so, in their mind, God owes them as well. God should let them in because they deserve it. They have done enough on this planet, they have suffered enough, gave enough, worked enough, after all, God is love, isn’t He?
Well, let’s look at it from a different perspective. Let’s look at it from God’s perspective. Who’s heaven it is? God’s. Who’s rules to get into heaven, God’s. Who decides who comes to heaven, God. Who created it, God…..
Hmmm, common theme there as well, God is in control of His heaven, same as you are most probably in control of your house.
Read:
Job 38, God is asking where Job was when He created all.
Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
That answers who will get to heaven, Man’s sin has so corrupted man, that God has to step in and save your soul. Otherwise, from your human nature, you will want nothing to do with God. As Corinthians says after one is saved 2 Corinthians 17 Therefore if any man in Christ, a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. That tells me that if I was from human nature a sinner, ungodly, hating everything holy (so much so that I didn’t even realize it) and offending God in every way possible.
Isaiah 64:6 tells us
But we are all as an unclean , and all our righteousnesses as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. I believe it is evident that we need God to open our eyes. As we cannot do it from our own will, we are dead in our sins
Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
By the way, someone that is dead, first has to be revived to take medicine to live, nothing different with our soul, God first has to regenerate us for us to believe in His Son.
Dear reader, please understand and see that you are an ungodly person deserving NOTHING good from God. You ARE a sinner if you are not saved. Forget the person you are sitting next to, forget your friends, YOU are the sinner. You are the reason Christ died on that cross 2000 yrs go. It’s YOUR fault He had to come to earth and die that brutal and gory death.
You must repent of your sins, and believe on Him to “get” to heaven.
