I have tried everything I can think of, and still I am not healed……
I am sure we have all faced this at one point or another in our lives, and yet, we still come up short. Either with work, a problem arises, and no matter how many opinions we get from others we still can’t find the solution. At home, we are trying to fix something and it seems all in vain. Some people try to work on their relationships, only to find themselves in the midst of a heart break.
How about health wise. I remember at one point, about 1.5 yrs ago now, I had a problem with my right hand. I couldn’t squeeze it. It was getting worse and worse. After about 6 months, I could barely even flex my fingers. You can imagine the panic that was going through my mind. At the time, 33 yrs old, and arthritis or carpal tunnel was hitting me this hard. I went to see a friend of mine that does acupuncture, and natural healing. I never was a big believer in the medical industry after doing some research and finding that there were some companies in the US that pay bonuses to the agents that can deny claims for whatever reason in the health insurance industry. But she tried with acupuncture, and a few other suggestions. Then advised to go to the neurologist (a specialist on the nervous system). And after doing some tests, they found absolutely nothing wrong with my system. No carpal tunnel, no arthritis. You can just imagine how devastated I was. All the tests they were doing, and found nothing. But the pain was not going away. At this point, the most I could bend my fingers, was about 45 degrees. My thumb muscle was incredibly soft, due to no activity.
And then, my friend (natural health) asked me to give up anything that had aspartame in it. Low and behold, a few months later, I had almost a full grip again, I discovered, I am allergic to aspartame.
Now let’s look at scripture in this one. Looking at Luke 8:43,
“And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, came behind Him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. And Jesus said – who touched me – When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and now she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.”
Now what was the point of the entire text? Well, we have to get some context with this, it’s clear there was a woman that had a blood issue. What it was, we are not sure 100%. She could have been a hemophiliac. And in the scripture, they just didn’t have a name for it yet.But what is clear, is that she spent everything she had. The clue is in verse 43. She spent her entire savings on doctors, and attempted solutions and so on. And she still had this issue. Now, let’s analyze this. At the beginning of the 12 yrs, say, the first few months, she might have thought, no big deal. The doctors may have told her, we have seen this before. So she would try along with the doctors. And they didn’t have medicare back then, so she had to pay out of her pocket. Now imagine, after a couple of years, you start to give up hope. And by the 12th year, I can’t imagine what was going through her mind.
Now, somehow, she hears of Christ. Not sure who the source is, but she is probably thinking to herself “He has cured many, maybe, just maybe, I could be one. This is my ONLY chance at healing.” So, does she go to Christ still full of pride, as just another option. Absolutely NOT. This is absolute desperation. She came to him broken, without pride and simply thinking, if this doesn’t work, nothing will. She has taken all the other options available to her.Now notice one more thing, she brought NOTHING with her, she went completely empty, her pride was gone, and she was beyond the point of caring what others would think. And when she touched his garment (whatever he was wearing), she had given up ALL her efforts for getting cured. And she put her entire faith in simply touching his clothes.
Dear friend, you may not see it yourself, but you have a condition, it’s called sin. And though you might not admit it, and even say you don’t believe in sin. Let me ask you something, if I asked you 3 questions.
Have you ever said a lie? If you say no, you are guilty of it, so you have lied in your life. And someone that says a single lie, is a liar.
Have you ever taken anything that doesn’t belong to you? If yes, you are a thief.
Have you ever looked at a woman, or a man in lust (picturing yourself intimate with them). You are an adulterer at heart.
Did you know, those are only 3 of the 10 commandments? And whether you want to admit it or not, they are all sin. Don’t read this and say “but it’s natural for me to do it, why can’t I do what comes naturally”? My friend, you could not have hit the head any more accurately, it is completely natural. Now here’s the issue with that. When you die, and face God, on the judgement day, what is he going to find you on that day? Guilty or innocent? Guilty of course, and the jail that God has, is the lake of fire for ever. Which is the reason Christ died on that cross 2000 yrs ago. God knew that in our nature, there was nothing we could do to please Him so he had NO choice but to send his Son to die on that cross. Now dear friend, not believing in Christ will not make your problem go away. It’s like saying you don’t want to believe in gravity, because you want to fly off your roof, you’re going to find out, if you jump, gravity still exists. Same with God, many people I talk with on a daily basis say they don’t believe in Him. Did you know you’re gambling with eternity? Is it really worth it? What if you’re wrong?
Friend, cry out to God, to forgive you through His Son’s blood. But, you have to come to Him broken, and having tried everything you could to earn your heaven, and realize it’s not going to work.
