Gun Control….Really?

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
the rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother. (Proverbs 29:15)
Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. (Proverbs 13:24)

In the wake of the recent tragedies that have happened in the USA recently,  first of all, I extend my most sincere sympathies to the families affected. These kind of acts are nothing less than difficult to deal with, much less accept. However, this article is not regarding the children, or even the guilty parties. It is directed toward our society and government.
They want to put more gun laws to protect families and themselves. If I can give my opinion, gun laws will do nothing to help. If you remember 9/11, that was not done with guns, yet over 5000 people lost their lives. Timothy McVeigh used explosives available at any hardware store. It’s not the method by which the person decides to commit these horrible crimes that should be outlawed. Imagine planes, no longer being produced, after 9/11, due to that tragedy, the government bans planes. How about banning cars, how many drunk drivers kill people in accidents on a yearly basis. Yet cars are not the target, neither is alcohol, it’s education toward the drinker (I have my own opinions on how well this is working). How about banning fertilizer, Timothy wouldn’t have been able to kill and injure hundreds had he not have access to those chemicals.

Dear friend, it’s not the gun that is committing the crime, it’s the person. And most of them had one thing in common. No moral compass. Let me ask you this, if you knew there are going to be consequences that you CANNOT get away from if you commit a crime, are you still going to go through your actions? You may still, depending on what they are, and your motive. I agree we won’t be able to prevent crime to 100% perfection. However, one thing that has happened in the last 50 yrs, is that evolution has been taught more and more in classes, and the bible has been removed. Atheists are more and more being loud about their rights.

I have a question, if atheists are right, in their mindset, that there is no God…why do they find life precious? They have absolutely no grounds for this. Think about it, we are just a result of an accidental explosion 3.5 billion yrs ago. So why care about anything at all? So if these young men, that committed these crimes were taught about the bible, the sin of mankind, and the love of Christ to die on the cross for our sins. Maybe, just maybe some of these crimes would not have happened. And more and more we are told we can’t discipline our children (spanking, sent to room, toy taken away…whatever method works for your child) due to them having rights. Well, they don’t learn consequences, that’s the first problem. They will begin thinking everything they do is ok…Imagine you, at work, do whatever you want, show up late, go home early, and barely work when you are there. How long till you get terminated? Why don’t we treat our kids with the same kind of logic?
I am not ranting on our system, and I do love kids. I do however believe the bible has a point here, that if you don’t teach your kids about sin, and consequences….tragedies are not far from happening.

Dear friend, please see that we don’t live in a world that has happened by accident. We are created by a God that is all knowing, and all powerful. People say “where is God when these shootings happen”. God has been kicked out of school back in the 50’s and now we want him back? Christians have to suppress their beliefs in order to not offend anyone, but all other beliefs are fine? The fallen world we live in is a result of sin. Please see your sin for what it is, and cry out to Christ for salvation and forgiveness.
