Darwin….great man? Or just another man, with the wrong agenda
Exodus 20:11 – For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
The introduction to this article need not be long. Someone is celebrating a birthday today. Sad part is, he’s no longer around to celebrate it, he’s passed on over a century ago. He was the founder and builder of what we call evolution. His name is Charles Darwin. I can’t begin to lead people on that I know much about him. I don’t. I do know however, that he was a huge proponent for evolution (he wasn’t however the first one to come up with it).
He was going on a voyage across the sea (he landed in South America with his shipmates) and observed a few species of birds and claimed “they must have all come from a common ancestor”….that part, he was correct. But he also claimed that man comes from the same ancestor. And every other living being. That’s where he was wrong. You see, when it comes to evolution, there are 6 definitions. And unless you specify which one you are really talking about, it could lead to a not so friendly debate. There are 5 that have NEVER been tested or proven. Only one is observed on a regular basis.
The first 5 are –
1. Cosmic Evolution: The origin of time, space and matter, by the Big Bang
2. Chemical Evolution: The origin of higher elements from hydrogen.
3. Stellar and Planetary Evolution: The origin of stars and planets.
4. Organic Evolution: The origin of Life.
5. Macro-Evolution: The changing from one kind of species to another kind of species.
Then we have the last one.
6. Micro-Evolution: The variation within kinds of species
The first 5 are, let me call it this, religion. You can believe in the first 5. I don’t have any issue with that, but for someone to come out and call it fact, you go from science to religion without even noticing it.
What is science? – Science is the concerted human effort to understand, or to understand better, the history of the natural world and how the natural world works, with observable physical evidence as the basis of that understanding1. It is done through observation of natural phenomena, and/or through experimentation that tries to simulate natural processes under controlled conditions. Evolution fits nothing in the description above. Evolution is a series of theories and assumptions. If you do some research on Mr. Darwin, you will find that he was studying to become a priest. And upon the death of his daughter, he turned against God with a revenge. Not that it’s possible to have revenge on God, but Darwin attempted it. Which evolution is one of the things he thought of to attempt this. Sad to say, that now, over 150 yrs later, even Christians have adopted Darwin’s explanation of the creation. The bible clearly teaches that God created everything within 6 days. And by 6 days, I mean 6 – 24 hr periods. I don’t mean the 6 long periods of time such as what Hugh Ross believes. If you go through the 1st chapter of Genesis, you will see that 7 times, God said that his creation was good. If evolution is correct, that puts dinosaurs in the mix before everything (between verses 1 and 2) and their death was there as well. How could God say that everything was good if death was already upon the earth…and that later, in the book of Romans 5:12, it says that ONE man, through sin, brought death. These are contradictory statements. If you believe in evolution, and don’t believe in the bible, though I believe you are wrong in your faith, at least you are somewhat consistent. But you are a professing Christian, and you buy into the evolution theory, or the gap theory, you are not consistent with the word of God.
Please understand I am not looking for a debate in this article. I pray that you might do more research on the topic, as it is a huge one. I have been looking into it for the better part of 3 yrs, and am only scratching the surface. There were many followers of evolution that were greater champions of it than Darwin ever was, and they claimed one thing “If we have to grasp this idea of God, that means we have to render account for our selfish desires and wants”. The words they used were not exactly as quoted, they were not so polite as they were describing lusts and sexual desires.
Dear friend, seriously have a look at what you believe. If it’s not in God and the cross (on which Christ died 2000 yrs ago), you may not like what I have to say next. Not believing in him will not make him go away. And you will render account for your sin. He will win. You will lose. I pray that you might repent of your sin, and fall upon that cross and see that He died for that reason. For your sin to be washed, and that you might be reconciled with God.There are no 3 ways about it, either you pay for your sin yourself (eternity in hell) or Christ pays for your sin, ( and you take it personally).
